MEET DR STEVE

Dr. Steven Collins is a distinguished archaeologist and biblical scholar renowned for his extensive work in Near Eastern archaeology, particularly his groundbreaking research at Tall el-Hammam, an archaeological site in the Jordan delta that he and his team identifies as the remains of the biblical Sodom.

With over three decades of experience, Dr. Collins has dedicated his career to exploring the intersections of archaeology and biblical history. He serves as the Director of the Ph.D. program in Archaeology and Biblical History at Veritas International University in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Additionally, he is the Chief Archaeologist and Co-Director of the Tall el-Hammam Excavation Project in Jordan, a position he has held since 2005.
Dr. Collins' academic journey includes a B.U.S. from the University of New Mexico, an M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a D.Min. from Luther Rice University, and a Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary. His post-doctoral studies encompass archaeological methods and international law, reflecting a broad and interdisciplinary approach to his research.
Throughout his career, Dr. Collins has been an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Schools of Oriental Research, the Society of Biblical Literature, and the Near East Archaeological Society, where he also serves on the board of directors.
The findings from Dr. Collins’ work on Tall el-Hammam speaks of a destruction of cosmic origins, with evidence that aligns closely with a comet airburst. With Cosmic Summit’s underlying themes of catastrophism and the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis, the impressive and monumental discoveries by Dr. Collins’ and his team have gone one step farther to providing evidence of a planet periodically bombarded by cosmic origins.

The findings from Dr. Collins' work on Tall el-Hammam show that the city was destroyed by a cosmic impact comparable in scale to the Tunguska impact of 1908. Dr. Collins' monumental discovery is a leading example of what to expect from the Cosmic Summit's overarching themes of catastrophism and the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis. Tall el-Hammam's destruction is just the latest example of the threat we face from cosmic catastrophes.
